Many sections of people including netizens, particularly, youth react to various political happenings actively. They set the internet and other platforms on fire displaying thought provoking opinions and analyses on political updates. When the ruling political parties commit blunders, literally they are torn apart by the youth on social media and other platforms. Likewise, if any opposition party takes a malicious decision, people don't hesitate to admonish them mercilessly.
Apparently, Hyderabadis lost all those rights of questioning to rulers and opposition parties. In a sheer shameful manner, most of the voters didn't utilize their vote for the GHMC elections. As a result, shockingly low percentages of voting were recorded on the polling day.
According to the official reports from the election commission, 18.20% of voting was registered by 1 pm while it escalated slowly to 25% by 3 pm. At this rate, hardly do we expect 40% voting by the end of the polling.
What has gone wrong with the GHMC voters? Veritably, all the major political parties have done a fabulous job in the campaigning and it appeared as if they were locking horns for the general elections. However, this rigorous campaign too didn't make the Hyderabadi voter move an inch to cast his vote.
Every Indian citizen should make a good use of his right to vote, as persuaded by our constitution. Misuse of vote or staying dormant at homes make people lose their ethics and values and it's no way a good sign for the development of the nation.
As suggested by Hyderabad CP Sajjanar, people who don't make use of their vote should be evicted from receiving sops through various government schemes. Similarly, youth shouldn't be issued academic certificates unless they cast their votes during the electioneering.
