RRR: NTR, Charan Dual Roles, 2 Inspirations

RRR Inspired By The Motorcycle Diaries, Rang De Basanti

Ace director SS Rajamouli long ago had announced that The Motorcycle Diaries is the inspiration for his film RRR with young tiger NTR and mega power star Ram Charan. It is a fictional story about India's freedom fighters, Alluri Seetha Ramaraju and Komaram Bheem who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.

The clear observation of Ramaraju For Bheem and Bheem For Ramaraju teasers hint something else about the film. It seems, the story has two different timelines. While one story narrates the fictional bonding of Ramaraju and Bheem before the pre-Independence era, the other story will show Charan as a boxer and NTR as a tribal leader who takes up Islam.

Do you remember the Bollywood classic Rang De Basanti directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and starring Aamir Khan, Siddharth, Atul Kulkarni, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kapoor etc. RRR also narrates two different stories in two different eras simultaneously, if a grapevine is anything to go by. Apparently, contemporary issues are also discussed in the film. Even the first look posters are also designed differently with shadow images for both the characters.
