In a major mishap, an Air India plane enroute from Dubai skidded off at Kozhikode airport while it was landing on the runway. Though thankfully, no fire, the plane broke into two pieces making the situation chaotic.
According to airline staff, a total of 191 passengers who include 6 staff. The pilot and two others were dead while more than 50 were severely injured.
Straightaway 40 fire engines were brought to the spot. Currently, rescue and relief operations are going on in a rapid pace.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the plane had fallen into a valley and broke in two after skidding off the end of the runway.
