Indian films always witness roles of police force on a regular basis. However, in most of the films and scenes they were seen as rapi**s, corrupt, thugs, conniving with the criminals etc. But such negative cop roles may disappear from the silver screen soon.
Ministry of Defense recently came up with a notification that the makers be it filmmakers or web-makers cannot show Army in a degrading manner. Before showing any scenes pertaining to army, the makers should get permission from the defense ministry. Similarly if the makers plan to show cops in their films then they have to get the permission from the state Home Ministry.
They have to submit a written letter saying that their film content do not have any scenes tarnishing the image of the cops. Only then they can expect to get a clearance from the censor board. If the makers flout the rules, cases can be slapped against them.
