According to the reports of some top national media houses, lockdown at nation-wide will be extended for two weeks.
Following the spread of coronavirus epidemic in India, the PM Narendra Modi imposed 21-day lockdown to the entire nation. The lockdown period is supposed to be ended by April 14.
Since new corona positive cases are being recorded with each passing day and the death toll has kept on raising, CMs of some states urged the PM to extend the lockdown for a few weeks. In the meanwhile, the union is also contemplating for an extension.
It's speculated that the PM will address the nation again on either 11th or 12th of this month on the extension of lockdown. He may impose the lockdown till this month end or for two weeks.
Meanwhile, the PM will hold a crucial meet with the floor leaders today and will discuss on lockdown's extension.
The educational institutions, religious places and shopping malls, however, are likely to be shut upto May 15 as per the report submitted by a group of union ministers to the PM. Let's wait for official decision of the union government on the extension of lockdown.
