Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad is known for his foot-tapping songs which drive masses crazy. Speaking to scribes he revealed the secret behind his super hit songs.
He said, “I will not tell for which film I tuned the song. But Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitam in Gabbar Singh was not meant for that film. I have the habit of writing Pallavi while composing the tune. I penned the song 'Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitam’ in such a manner. I loved the song and was confident that it will drive masses crazy.
However, the director did not like it. It is not his fault. He planned to shoot the song in a different manner. He told me the same. My other habit is if a director expresses even a small reservation, I will not try to convince him. I feel it is an insult to me and my tune. Without any discussion, I give another tune.
While composing music for Gabbar Singh, Harish Shankar came to me and told, “I like the song 'Gongura Totakada' from Venky a lot. If our hero (Pawan Kalyan) get such song it will reach another level'. I asked him' If I give such a song, will he have any objection?" He said no. Then I played 'Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham'. He at once hugged me and said ‘This is what I want'. I told him I tuned the song for another film but it did not set. At that time I got only pallavi. He then insisted on me writing the entire song. You know how the song created a sensation."
