The way Young Rebel Star Prabhas’s Saaho performed in Hindi, it is still a big shock for Telugu audience. While the film in Telugu and other south languages is turning out to be disaster, the Hindi version had a dream run at box office in its first week. The film is raking decent numbers in its second week as well.
Usually, collections will slow down from day two or at least after first weekend even for Bollywood star hero films if they receive negative talk. Surprisingly, Saaho did witness jump on day two and it went on to shake box office for next few days. In fact, the film directed by Sujeeth is a profit maker in Bollywood.
Many wonder what are the factors that favored an average film to turn out to be a hit. Actually, North audience are showing interest in watching south mass masala and action entertainers of late. They apparently have loved the action part and the twists in the film which is the reason the film did exceptionally well in mass centers in the North. Moreover, Saaho is the first release for Prabhas after the Baahubali sensation.
Saaho was promoted as a straight Hindi film. Of course the film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi. After Bhushan Kumar of T Series grabbed the Hindi rights, the promotional strategy was changed. Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor promoted the film majorly in Mumbai and other North cities.
Saaho songs which had Bollywood touch well received among North audience, wherein the songs did not get much response in Telugu and other south languages.
It will be interesting to see how Bollywood audience receive Prabhas’s next film Jaan which is also a high budget entertainer!
