Mega Star Chiranjeevi's upcoming entertainer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy directed by Surender Reddy is driving mega fans and Tollywood movie lovers crazy. People are getting excited as Chiranjeevi for the first time is playing the role of a freedom fighter on silver screen.
The film is a biopic on India's first freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy from Rayalaseema region. He fought the Britishers, even before the first war of Independence in 1857.
It is known that, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are releasing the film's Hindi version across the country. This is making many wonder whether Sye Raa in Bollywood is a huge risk.
Farhan and Ritesh are over the moon with the success of Sandalwood film Kolar Goldmine Films (KGF) dubbed version and have acquired the rights of Sye Raa. But while KGF is a commercial potboiler, Sye Raa is a patriotic entertainer, a biopic on freedom figher Narasimha Reddy, unknown in North India.
They are only banking on Big B Amitabh Bachchan's powerful cameo in the film and experts feel that this move may backfire. Some feel Bollywood makers are hastily announcing the remakes of Tollywood films and point how Karan Johar who acquired Dear Comrade even before its release and the film turned out to be a disaster at the box office.
