Super Star Mahesh Babu's milestone 25th film Maharshi directed by Vamsi Paidipally won the appreciation of fans and movie lovers. Though few critics found it routine, many hailed the social message highlighting the plight of the farmers.
The filmmakers promoted the film as Tollywood's biggest blockbuster while Mahesh himself celebrated the success as Maharshi's memorable journey. Under these circumstances, star writer Paruchuri Gopala krishna exposed many blunders in Maharshi.
He said, "The film's main drawback is three hours duration. Had it been trimmed, result would have been better. While watching Chiranjeevi's Indra premier we felt the same. However without deleting even a single scene, we trimmed it by ten minutes deleting few frames. Maharshi makers could have easily trimmed it by 15 minutes. Whether they already did it or felt it wasn't necessary, they should have taken little care."
He continued saying, "The film falls under crime and punishment genre. Hero realizes a bit late on how his career and life was saved by his friend. The makers beat around the bush to narrate the same on the screen. The friend's role too was flawed. Hero then setting his software company under a tree in a remote village looked unrealistic and artificial. Hero landing in a helicopter to see his friend is hard to digest. Had the hero set up his office in his friend's house, it would have been little convincing. Anyway film turned out to be a hit and we cannot say the result had the changes been made. One cannot catch the pulse of the movie lovers till the release of the film."
Maharshi is all set to complete 50 days run this week. The makers also planned 50 days celebrations.
