Heavy Rush: Will They End Flop Streak?

Films Releasing This Week: Tollywood

After Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi, many small to medium range films hit the screens. But, none of them could amaze Telugu audience and become hits at box office. This week too as many as seven films are coming for audience verdict. Will any of these break Tollywood’s flop streak?

Comedian Priyadarshi turned lead actor with Mallesham, a biopic of Padma Shri awardee Chintakindi Mallesham who invented Asu Machine to ease the pain of his mother, and several other women like her. Those who watched premiere of the film are lauding the film. But, the question is will this film directed by Raj Rachakonda win commercial applause?

Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya marks debut for Naveen Polishetty as protagonist. Many compared the film with Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s Chantabbai. But, Naveen clarified that, his film is completely different from the Jandhyala directorial. However, he promised adequate entertainment. Fortunately, the film is carrying good buzz.

First Rank Raju, a remake of the Kannada hit First Rank Raju, stars Chetan play a hero. The makers say the film will be an eye opener for parents who persecute kids for first rank. They also make clear that the film is made as a commercial entertainer. But, only extreme positive talk after release can only help this one to sustain at box office.

There are no promotions and zero buzz on other releases like Manchu Vishnu’s Voter, Ajay’s Special, Stuartpuram and Gajendrudu (a dubbed film).
