Yesteryear actress Sridevi with her eternal beauty gave sleepless nights to many during her heydays. Many stars dreamed of marrying her but Sridevi sprang a surprise by marrying Boney Kapoor, who divorced his wife for second marriage.
Meanwhile, JD Chakravarthy made surprising revelation saying Sridevi's mother asked him to marry his daughter. Recollecting the incident, he said, “I shouldn't talk about the past incident now, but this is what happened. Sridevi's mother came to me and asked me to marry her daughter. This left me shell-shocked."
JD continued saying, "Later I understood why she asked me in that manner. Though I am mad of Sridevi, I didn’t get the golden chance. During Gulabi shooting, Maheswari and her mother used to stay in Sridevi's house in Chennai. On their invitation I went to their house for lunch. Sridevi's mother came to me, held my hands and asked me 'won't you marry my daughter'. She behaved in such a manner as doctors' operation to her brain went wrong and she was unable to realize anything except the point that her daughter Sridevi was unmarried.
Knowing this RGV felt very sad and got hurt. He felt that at least Sridevi's mother should have asked him. Had RGV been there with me, he too would have come with me for lunch but he was held up in Mumbai.
He said he fought with RGV only with regards to Sridevi. Both were crazy of Sridevi and during Kshana Khanam shoot, RGV forgot that he was the director for the film and instead tried to woo Sridevi.”
