Young Rebel Star Prabhas attained sensational stardom across the world with his power packed performance in SS Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali. He is now starring in Saaho and is busy completing his next Jaan. Makers of his upcoming entertainers are spending money like water in the name of richness.
Saaho makers are allegedly spending whopping Rs 90 crs for single action episodes and the film budget is crossing Rs 200 crs. His next film tentatively titled Jaan/Amor too is made with a budget of Rs 150 cs and they are erecting sets worth Rs 30 crs.
Some are questioning whether such grandiose is required irrespective of the stardom Prabhas attained with Baahubali. What is the greatness if one comes with a 100 crs film if a hero's market is 100 crs. The clever thing to do is come with a 50 cr film and make business of Rs 100 crs. But it seems our filmmakers are not that smart.
Just because a star's market increased, they too are increasing the budget of films. They increase the budget and even give remuneration on the same scale. Tollywood witnessed low due to increase in budgets for Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan films left buyers in losses and how they broke records in disasters. The makers are now investing in huge amounts on Prabhas after the sensation of Baahubali.
The question is whether this hungama is necessary for Prabhas' films. In the name of Prabhas' increased market, they are spending whopping amounts on sets, action episodes etc. One should see how Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh who once ruled the industry is now disappeared from the screen. His following and market disappeared without a trace. His films are not even grossing Rs 50 crs.
Times will not be same as always and so if one think of flying without being grounded, then they will come down crashing with a thud. Better Prabhas realize this and put a cap on his films budget.
