Should Young Tiger NTR be the president of TDP? Should he replace Chandrababu Naidu? Young Tiger's fans have been demanding the same for the past couple of years.
All the exit poll results unanimously disclosed humiliating defeat of TDP in the general elections, 2019. CBN, who once was considered a top rated CM, lost his Midas touch during his tenure between 2014 and 2019. He became extravagant and encouraged nepotism and casteism within the party. In spite of fulfilling peoples basic needs, he got his own needs fulfilled. Eventually, TDP faced an intense anti incumbency. Moreover, CBN turned 70 recently. He appears not in a position to administer the state anymore as a CM.
Initially, Nara Lokesh was hoped the successor of CBN. Sadly, he became popular more as a comedian than a politician. Rumours are surfacing that he might be defeated in Mangalagiri.
If at all there is no leader in TDP, the party will go to ashes. Someone, who has a popularity among the people, should hold the responsibilities as a TDP's president. NTR's fans are claiming that their favourite hero is an ultimate choice to save the party.
Way back in 2009's general elections, NTR campaigned for TDP's victory in the general elections. He has done good service to people during natural calamities. Why shouldn't he prefer a larger platform to serve the society? It's high time TDP's high command inducted NTR as the party's president. Else, the party will become a sinking ship.
