Overseas Fight: Test For Charan

Box Office Fight: VVR Vs NTR Vs F2

Irrespective of competition and talk, Sankranthi films usually do good business in first week. Earlier, few small to medium range films did wonderful business, despite presence of star hero films for the festival.

Star heroes Balakrishna, Ram Charan, Venkatesh and Varun Tej are in race for this Sankranthi with their respective films. Interesting factor is for the first time, two mega heroes are clashing at box office. NTR Biopic first part titled NTR Kathanayakudu, Vinaya Vidheya Rama and F2 (Fun And Frustration) are in Sankranthi race.

Buzz is equally high on all the Sankranthi special movies and needless to say that all the three films are expected to rake record openings. But, overseas performance is crucial for heroes of these films.

Balakrishna is not a big star in overseas where his films are unable to set cash registers ringing. The Nandamuri hero is hoping biopic on his dad NTR directed by Krish, who helmed his biggest overseas grosser Gautamiputra Satakarni, would emerge as a winner for Sankranthi.

Ram Charan’s last movie Rangasthalam was a blockbuster in all centers including overseas. But, the thing worrying mega fans is Charan’s mass movies were rejected completely by overseas audience. Vinaya Vidheya Rama is also a mass action entertainer. And more importantly, director Boyapati Srinu also has disappointing track record in the territory. So, it will be a big test for both Charan and Boyapati.

Last but not the least; F2 seems to please overseas audience who always encourage fun and entertaining films. The film’s teaser and trailer got excellent response and Anil Ravipudi is in full swing with hat trick hits- Patas, Supreme and Raja The Great. F2 also has two glamour dolls Tamannaah Bhatia and Mehreen Kaur.

Let’s see which out of these Sankranthi outings will become a winner at overseas box office!
