‘Gayam’ from Ram Gopal Varma is a cult film in narration of emotional family drama, cute love story and of course Vijayawada mafia shown in authentically thrilling light. Writer and director Koratala Siva penned this script long ago before working on debut directorial ‘Mirchi.’ Finally, he got Junior NTR dates blocked with Mythri Movie Makers handling the production. According to inner sources, NTR and Unni Mukundan play cousins while Mohan Lal is head of family, Mafia head and father to Unni Mukundan.
What kind of interesting situations evolve on the brutal murder of Mohan Lal, how Junior NTR being a student from IIT undertake the reigns of his uncle Mohan Lal and how Unni Mukundan becomes NTR's rival is rest of action and family drama. Plot looks quite similar to ‘Gayam’ and many films made by RGV with inspiration from ‘God Father’ but it’s the conviction of Koratala Siva which should make ‘Janatha Garage,’ a very special film in NTR career.
