Small films are taking the centre stage at the box office as the top stars became silent on the all important summer eve. However most of them failed to make use of the golden opportunity at the box office and left without a trace with movie lovers unaware of the titles of the films and their release dates.
Movie lovers got good feast at the box office during sankranti with films like Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, Nari Nari Naduma Murari and Anaganaga Oka Raju. From then on till now only small heroes films came and recently Biker, Bandmelam and Dacoit, despite their claims are failing to attract viewers to the theatres.
Most shocking his Bad Boy Karthik and it turned out to be a disaster in Naga Shourya's career. Movie lovers are blasting the makers and angrily questioning whether even they are aware of what they are making. Kiran Abbavaram turned producer and encouraged new talent with Thimmarajupalli TV. Despite his best efforts the film got just pass marks. Kiran Abbavaram should introspect and do postmortem as to where he went wrong as the film is failing to attract viewers and bring them to theatres.
Thiruveer's Paapam Pratap is making analysts say Paapam Prekshakulu. Though the director got a good point he failed to execute it on the screen. Tovino Thomas' Pallichattambi are leaving viewers blank-faced. Some say, the reason for empty theatres is the scorching summer heat and also the ongoing IPL season. But even what they are failing to realise is there is no strong content and appealing subject that attracts viewers to the theatres. It has to be seen when the situation will change in the theaters and who will be the savior of Tollywood.
