Ram Charan and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali are finally set to collaborate on a new film after their previous project did not materialize. The upcoming movie will be a historical adventure drama set in a jungle and is planned as a pan-India release. According to Bollywood reports, the project comes after the duo’s initial plan to work on a period drama based on Amish Tripathi’s Legend of Suheldev fell through. Bhansali will produce the film, which is being developed as an ambitious, large-scale venture.
The film is reportedly based on the Rowdy Rathore 2 script originally written by KV Vijayendra Prasad. Since that sequel did not go forward, the story has been rewritten by Durgesh Singh, known for his work on Gullak 2 and Shakti Shalini. The new narrative has been tailored to suit Ram Charan’s personality and is described as a historical jungle adventure drama. A source revealed that the project will be helmed by a top Bollywood director, adding more weight to the collaboration.
The Ram Charan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali film will be shot in Hindi and dubbed into Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada to reach a pan-India audience. As per Bollywood reports told Mid-Day that while the Maharaja Suheldev story did not work out, this new project is equally ambitious in scale and vision. The jungle-set adventure drama aims to blend Bhansali’s grand storytelling with Ram Charan’s action-hero appeal.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is also producing Jai Somnath, directed by Ketan Mehta, and working on Love & War starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt. If finalized, the Ram Charan collaboration will mark a major South-North crossover, combining Bhansali’s production expertise with Charan’s pan-India star power.
