Writer Gopi Mohan speaking to scribes, differentiated between Mollywood and Tollywood.
He said "Malayalam cinema operates on tighter budgets and more disciplined schedules, while Telugu biggies often involve elaborate planning, longer gaps, and occasional delays. This contrast sometimes creates challenges for Malayalam actors. For instance, Tovino Thomas reportedly stepped away from NTR and Prashanth Neel’s Dragon due to prolonged scheduling gaps. Similarly, Fahadh Faasil had to adjust his commitments while working on the Pushpa franchise."
He added “Malayalam actors are polished and refined. They can slip into any role with ease and bring a sense of realism that enhances Telugu films,” He shared ""Even legendary Malayalam actors like Mohan Lal and Mammotty were seen in Telugu films like 'Janatha Garage' and 'Yatra' respectively,"
He concluded “Today, cinema has become pan-India. Language is no longer a barrier. What matters is performance, and Malayalam actors bring a unique authenticity that enriches our films,”
