Anushka is making her Malayalam entry with the film titled Kathanar. The film stars Jayasurya in the lead role with Rojin Thomas is the director.
The trailer released recently disappointed Anushka's fans as she had limited screen presence. In the midst of all this, Hemanth Madhukar says “Netizens and fans are jumping the gun,”He says "It’s unfair to judge the importance or screen time of a character based on promotional cuts,”
He reveals, “She is a very talented actress who would have taken this decision with a lot of thought and commitment. The novelty of the script and the challenge it offers might have attracted her,”
Anushka was last seen in Ghaati which turned out to be a huge disappointment. She earlier tasted moderate success with Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty. Kathanar story follows Kadamattathu Kathanar, a legendary 9th century Christian priest endowed with magical powers.
