Allu Arjun to propel Karna. Karna happens to be the dream project of Bollywood maker Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra. He worked hard for more than 5-6 six years and readied the script. He planned to cast Suriya in this two part epic project planned with a whopping budget of Rs 600crs.
However, with Suriya's Kanguva turning out to be a disaster, the equations changed. Excel Entertainment backed off feeling that investing so much money when Suriya's market is down is a huge risk. Rakesh Mehra is however keen to showcase Karna's valor on a grand scale on the big screen and so he kept the project on hold as he doesn't want to compromise on the quality by bringing down the budget.
He himself revealed that though Rahman readied six songs, the film got stalled due to current situation. Currently pan India trend is going on and already many filmmakers are gearing up to realise their Mahabharat dreams. If Karna donot hurry then the craze will wane away with the release of other projects on Mahabharat.
If Rakesh Mehra is not keen to take the project forward with Suriya then, he may look for other stars who has pan India craze and Prabhas and Allu Arjun tops the list. Business will be going in fullswing, with any of these heroes. But Prabhas may not be keen on this project as he is doing the role of Karna in Kalki 2898AD and so Allu Arjun willbe the best option.
Already the project is on Suriya's name and if the director is keen to replace him, he may need Suriya's permission and also look for other technical hindrances. Suriya is currently busy with his 44 ad 45 project. All eyes are on as to who will turn Karna on the screen.
