Aamir Khan Rajkumar Hirani To Do The Biopic On Father Of Indian Cinema

Hit Combo Teaming up For A Biopic

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani are reuniting to make a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema. This will be their third collaboration, after the successful films 3 Idiots and PK. The biopic will explore Phalke's life and legacy during India's independence era, showcasing his journey as an artiste who laid the foundation for the Indian film industry.

The film is scheduled to go on floors in October 2025, after Aamir Khan's current release. Aamir will begin preparing for his role after the release of his upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Par.' The script has been in development for over four years, with Rajkumar Hirani and his team working tirelessly to bring Phalke's story to life.

To ensure authenticity, VFX studios from Los Angeles have been enlisted to create AI-generated visuals that capture the period setting of the film. Additionally, Dadasaheb Phalke's grandson, Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar, has extended his support and contributed anecdotes and personal insights to the project. The film promises to be a grand tribute to Phalke's legacy, showcasing his contributions to Indian cinema.
