Telugu Desam supremo N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday urged R Subrahmanyam, Principal Secretary, Rural Development Department, to ensure fairness in the execution of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme at Dattaluru mandal in Nellore district.
In a press release, he said the Nellore District Collector has sanctioned six works worth Rs 74 lakh under ZPP component on the proposals of P V Subbarayudu Yadav, ZPTC of Duttaluru mandal.
However, three works in Yerukollu panchayat have not been grounded as the sarpanch belongs to the rival Telugu Desam party.
Another work sanctioned under MPP component also was not taken up due to political reasons. The situation is similar in other villages also, he alleged.
The executive member and sarpanch made several representations to the engineering department. The ZPTC member, in vain, represented several times to the District Collector.
Naidu demanded an enquiry into the half-hearted implementation of the NREGS works.
