Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday indicated that he may hand over organisational responsibility to actor Nandamuri Balakrishna at ‘an appropriate time.’
The statement of Naidu assumes significance in the wake of Balakrishna's comments that he would not shirk responsibility to shoulder party responsibility if the need arises.
Talking to reporters, Naidu said he would discuss the issue with his family members. “The family members will take a collective decision in this regard,” Naidu stated.
Recalling the services of Balakrishna and Jr. NTR during the Assembly elections, he said the party would never forget their services and will reward them suitably at an appropriate time.
The party will also consider nominating Balakrishna to the Rajya Sabha after discussions with his family and senior party leaders, he said responding to a question.
Right now, Balakrishna is busy with film schedules and NTR Charitable Trust activities, Naidu hastened to add.
