Senior BJP leader, Former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley breathed his last today at AIIMS hospital, New Delhi.
He was admitted in hospital two weeks back after he complained difficulty in breathing. 66-year-old Arun Jaitley was known as the chief troubleshooter for the BJP.
He fought valiantly in the hospital after he was put on life support. Doctors were unable to save him despite their best efforts.
Arun Jaitley was a lawyer by profession and he held Defence and Finance portfolios in BJP government's first term. Arjun Jaitley did not contest the elections and also skipped the interim budget presentation in February when he was undergoing treatment in USA. He had triple heart bypass surgery at the age of 52.
Jaitley shared cordial relations cutting across party lines and almost all the opposition leaders rushed to the hospital to pay their final tributes.
