Polikeka: Cases booked against KU students

Warangal, Feb 9: The police booked three  cases against the  students  of Kakatiya University for violating the rules during the Telangana 'Polikeka' on Sunday last.Chaos prevailed at the 'Polikeka' on KU campus after the High court accorded the permission to the students to conduct the meeting. The police had a tough time in bringing in calm onto the campus as confusion prevailed on the campus.Against this  backdrop, the police  registered three sets of cases suo-motto.The first case pertained to the attack on MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga.

The second case concerned the attack on singer Desapathi Srinivas. The third for creating ruckus at the meeting despite the High Court's condition to make the 'Polikeka' peaceful.Fourteen students have been identified and notices issued for their arrests. On Tuesday afternoon, the police made a thorough search on the campus to arrest the students. They also tried to de-weed anti-social elements on the campus.Leaders of the student unions have appealed to the state government to lift  all the cases filed by the police.
