AP's new capital city's foundation stone to be laid on June 6

The foundation stone for the construction of Amaravati, the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh State, will be laid on June 6 at 8.49 am.

Speaking to media persons after releasing the logo of Godavari Pushkaralu here on Monday, Advisor to AP Government Parakala Prabhakar informed that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for the State's new capital. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being invited for the event. The construction of the new capital city will begin on the occasion of Dussera festival, he said.

Parakala also informed that elaborate arrangements were being made for the peaceful conduct of Godavari Pushkaralu. The State Government will spend nearly Rs 1,471 crore for the purpose. President of India Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Ministers of all States and other dignitaries are also being invited for the event.

An event is also being organised on June 8 at Mangalgiri to celebrate the completion of one year of TDP Government in the State.
