Congress demands immediate relief for rain-hit farmers

Deputy CLP leader in Assembly T Jeevan Reddy on Saturday demanded that the State Government extend immediate assistance to farmers who lost crops due to unseasonal rains across Telangana State.

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Jeevan Reddy said that the government should not delay the assessment of losses and a report must be send immediately to the Central Government seeking its assistance. He accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of neglecting the welfare of farmers while focusing his attention on issues like shifting of Secretariat or construction of skyways.

Jeevan Reddy also announced that the Congress would approach the court against the Water Grid Land Acquisition Bill.
