Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu, along with his son , HRD Minister Lokesh and his team landed in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland to particpate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026.
The meeting will be held from 19 Jan -23 Jan and he is on a mission to Andhra Pradesh as a global investment destination and attract long-term partnerships across technology, industry and innovation. Several global leaders, including Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and World Bank Group President Ajay Banga along with the Telugu communinty accorded him a grand welcome at the Zurich Airport.
CII Breakfast Session will be addressed by Chandra Babu on the theme 'The Andhra Pradesh Advantage' in which he will outline the state's investor-friendly ecosystem, focusing on faster decision-making, ease of doing business, port-led development, robust infrastructure and a skilled workforce. He will later participate in the inauguration of the India Lounge and interact with global investors.
Speaking at the event, Chandra Babu said that Andhra Pradesh is attracting nearly 25 per cent of the country’s total investments across key sectors. The Chief Minister highlighted strong opportunities in green energy, technology, digital infrastructure, and logistics. He said drone ambulance services will be launched this year. He added that Andhra Pradesh has a major natural advantage with a coastline of over 1,000 kilometres.
He explained opportunities for investments in green energy, technology, digital infra and logistics sectors. Mentioning Google investment in Visakhapatnam and Green Ammonia plant in Kakinada, he said the State government laid emphasis on development of space city, ports and airports to promote rapid economic growth. He said “Our speed of doing business makes AP a premier investment hub.” He added “There is no better investment destination than Andhra Pradesh. The state will become the biggest market for industrialists,”
Promoting AP as the industry friendly state, he said “The future is for knowledge economy, and Indians are ahead in utilising technology,” Chandra Babu later posted“Andhra Pradesh isn’t just an investment destination; it’s a strategic advantage. I was delighted to engage with industry leaders at the CII session “India at the Centre: The Geography of Growth - The Andhra Pradesh Advantage” in Davos, showcasing AP’s strengths across various sectors. With nearly a quarter of India’s FDI, our speed of doing business makes AP a premier investment hub. I invited global industry to partner with us for long-term growth.”
Chandra Babu will meet Arvind Krishna, Chairman and CEO of IBM, and Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud along with other companies CEOs, focusing on technology, digital infrastructure and innovation-driven growth. He will also meet Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), to discuss collaboration in innovation and intellectual property.
Ministers Nara Lokesh and TG Bharat will also be part of the meetings that will include Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director of the JSW Group, Parth Jindal of JSW Cements and JSW Paints, and Vincent Clerc, CEO of Maersk, with emphasis on manufacturing, ports and logistics-led development.
