TRS disruption threat: Security net around stadium for Test

Cyberabad Police Commissioner K Prabhakar Reddy on Thursday imposed restrictions on the movement of all vehicles in the wake of Telangana Cricket Joint Action Committee threat to disturb the second Test match between India and New Zealand to begin from November 12 in the city.

Talking to media persons after reviewing the security arrangements at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, the Commissioner said that six IPS officers have been deployed to maintain law and order apart from 1,000 police force.

He said that the vehicles would be restricted from 8.30 AM to 9.30 AM and from 4 PM to 5 PM in the surroundings of stadium.

Mr Prabhakar Reddy said the police would not allow laptops, cameras, cell phones, handbags, binoculars, water bottles and outside food into the stadium.

He added that visitors should park their vehicles in the allotted space only.

Mr Prabhakar Reddy said the police would take serious action against those who violate the rules and regulations and try to disturb the match.

He appealed to all people to cooperate with the police for smooth conduct of the test match.
