The Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, on Tuesday accused the Opposition parties of raising hue and cry over notifying the drought-affected mandals in the State.
Talking to media persons, the Chief Minister founded fault with Opposition leaders for preparing gruel at makeshift kitchens at Gun Park and said that reports on the drought situation were being prepared and he would shortly take a decision on it.
“There is no need to panic on drought situation in the state. The government would take all measures to deal with the situation,” he asserted.
The government would provide loans, crop insurance and a package of new initiatives to help farmers in the drought-hit districts across the state, he added.
