Srikakulam, Jan 23: Chief Minister K Rosaiah who is on a tour of the district, discussed with rural women problems they faced at Chidimi in Veeraghattam mandal as part of the `Face-to-Face’ programme he launched on Saturday morning.The Chief Minister who is on a two-day tour of the district sought to know from the villagers the extent of welfare programmes under implementation  in the rural areas. The village women urged the Chief Minister to provide medical and health-care facilities and bus services to the village.

Rosaiah also reminded the people of their loyal relationship with his Government.Later, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for the modernization of Thotapali irrigation channel project at Navagam. Addressing a public meeting at the project site, Rosaiah said he was keen to resolve the riparian disputes with Orissa government and if needed, he is prepared to go to Orissa to sort out contentious issues with the chief minister of the  neighbouring state.

Tenders would also be called soon for the construction of the Rushing bridge, he added.Rosaiah handed over aid and relief to the members of the Self-Help groups at a public meeting at Thotapalli project site.Bowing to public demand, the Government would shift the proposed 100-bedded hospital  planned for Srikakulam. It would be located instead at Palakonda in the district, Rosaiah promised.This is the first tour of Rosaiah to Srikakulam district after assuming charge as the Chief Minister.
