Hyderabad, Dec 30: The city police announced restrictions on movement of traffic around the Hussain Sagar on the night of Dec 31. The curbs were announced to ease traffic congestion likely to be caused by New Year revellers.Commissioner of Police B Prasada Rao stated that the police would intensify checks for drunk driving with breath analysers. The police would take stern action against rash and negligent driving and triple-riding on two-wheelers. Mr Prasada Rao requested cooperation by the general public to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
According to a notification, traffic will not be allowed on the NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Upper Tankbund from 10 pm on December 31 to 2 am of January 1.Traffic from the VV Statue towards Necklace Road and NTR Marg will be diverted at the VV Statue towards Khairatabad and Rajbhavan Road. Traffic from BRK Bhavan towards NTR Marg will be diverted towards Iqbal Minar, Lakadikapul, Ayodhya.Traffic bound from Liberty Jn towards Secunderabad will be diverted at the MCH Office Y Jn, towards BRK Bhavan, Telugu Talli, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Lakdikapul and Ayodhya.

 Traffic coming from Khairatabad Market to go towards Necklace Rotary will be diverted at Khairatabad towards Meera  Talkies lane. The Mint compound lane adjacent to Secretariat will be closed for general vehicular traffic.Traffic coming from Nallagutta Railway Bridge will not be allowed towards Sanjeevaiah Park and Necklace Road and will be diverted towards Karbala Maidan or Ministers Road. Vehicular traffic coming from Secunderabad will be diverted at the Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda X Roads, Lower Tankbund, Kattamaisamma Temple, left turn & Ashok Nagar, RTC X Roads.
