SHRC asks cops to file report on missing Rahul

Hyderabad,Dec 28: T Rahul Reddy, a member of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Andhra Pradesh is reportedly missing  after being picked up by the Task  Forces on Dec 25.To this effect, the ABVP lodged a complaint with the police on Monday seeking Rahul’s whereabouts.Enquiries revealed that Rahul was handed over by the Task Force personnel to the Criminal Investigation Department.

However,the CID has denied that Rahul was handed over to it.As per the Constitution and the Criminal Procedure Code norms, a person who was handed over to the CID should be produced before a magistrate within 24 hours of his/her arrest.But till date, Rahul remains untraceable.In this regard, the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad is directed to file his report before the Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission by 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
