OU puts off exams to Jan 2

Hyderabad, Dec 21: Osmania University has put off its postgraduate examinations including semesters to January 2,2010 in view of the uncertainty caused by the Telangana agitation.The University authorities,however,notified that examinations to the engineering and pharmacy disciplines would go unhindered as per schedule.

Earlier,the Osmania students staged a dharna in front of Administrative office building demanding the postponement of the semester exams till the Centre introduces a Telangana resolution Bill in Parliament.They also threatened to boycott the examinations until the Centre comes up with a bill on Telangana statehood.The semester exams are scheduled to commence on Dec 22.Bowing to pressure from student unions, the Vice-Chancellor postponed the exams to January 2, 2010.
