SHRC fiat over police attack on students

Hyderabad,Dec 15: State Human Rights Commission on Tuesday ordered an enquiry into the police excesses on students in the wake of police lathicharge on the students and employees of Sri Krishnadevaraya University.The Commission took a serious note of the police high-handedness following a writ petition and ordered that the Government conduct an enquiry into the entire issue and submit a report to the Commission by Dec 18.The Commission also directed Rayalaseema Inspector General Anuradha to personally visit the Sri Krishnadevaraya University and record the statements of the victims.The commission directed the government to provide medical treatment to those,who were injured in the police lathicharge.
