Hyderabad,Dec 14 :The State Assembly on Monday witnessed noisy scenes over Telangana statehood issue, as expected,following slogan-shouting and counter-slogans by the legislators.In the face of pandemonium, Assembly Speaker N Kiran Kumar said the House business could not go any further under the present circumstances and adjourned the House sine die.The House plunged into turmoil by the MLAs who raised slogans of Jai Andhra and Jai and declined to listen to the appeals by the Speaker to go back to their respective seats.In the melee nothing was audible.Earlier,the Assembly had to be adjourned for 30 minutes soon after the House met for the day’s  business because of slogan-shouting against the bifurcation of the State and another group demanding separate Telangana.Soon after the House assembled 9.00 a.m., the Speaker took up the question hour.Civil Supplies Minister J.Krishna Rao was replying to the first listed questions from Congress, some members stood and began sloganeering in favour of a Samykya Andhra Pradesh (united state).

Chief Whip N.Bhati Vikramarka advised the angry members to take their seats and let them allow the House to transact business.Suddenly, some Telugu Desam and Congress members started raising slogans in favour of Telangana issue. This forced the Speaker to adjourn the Assembly for 30 minutes.As soon as the members re-assembled,the Speaker Kiran Kumar adjourned the House sine die on a resolution moved by Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasad Rao who is also in-charge of the Legislative Affairs.Earlier, the Ministers belonging to all the regions held a joint meeting on the Assembly Committee Hall before the House started to thrash out a solution to the ongoing crisis. The meeting also ended abruptly as the Assembly proceedings began. After the House was adjourned the ministers went and met Chief Minister K Rosaiah.Meanwhile, the police have taken Vijayawada parliamentarian L Rajgopala into preventive custody after he threatened to go on an indefinite fast outside the Assembly.
