Hyderabad, Nov 4:  Sports lovers in the city were filled with grief and remorse as they learnt that young lady boxer S Amaravathi, 21, committed suicide in the Lal Bahadur Stadium Sports Hostel  in the wee hours of Wednesday. The young boxer is believed to have taken the extreme step by consuming sleeping pills, following differences she developed with her coach Omkar  Yadav, which could have led to this sorry culmination.According to sources close to the boxer, S Amaravathi had telephoned to her  brother and mother last night about the frequent annoyance of her coach Omkar Yadav for her bad performance lately. She is reported to have told her family that Yadav even went personal while scolding her and suggested  her to ``better lead a peaceful marital life than do miserably in sports.’’  However, Amaravathi’s parents seemed to have suggested that she get back home if she did not like to stay in hostel.

“We were worried about her, as she kept calling up about the harassment meted out to her from the coach. Last night, we asked her to return home immediately, but she declined do so. When we reached the hostel building today, we were shocked. She is no more,’’ moaned her mother Laxmi and brother  Saibaba.State IT, Youth and Sports Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy who visited the hostel room where the young boxer was found dead, assured that no one would be spared if found responsible for her death and said the whole episode would be probed into.Amravathi had bagged silver medals at National levels during 2004, 2005 and 2006.
