Hyderabad,Oct 26: The state Government will pay all fee reimbursements, scholarships  and  grant in aid to students of  engineering colleges  through online only, according to Social Welfare Minister Subhash Chandrabose here on Monday.Talking to media persons after attending  a review meeting on payment of fees and scholarships convened by Chief Minister K Rosaiah with the officials concerned at the secretariat, the minister said that there was no dearth of funds for fee reimbursement.He said that the Government has taken a decision to pay all fees and scholarships to students through online from this academic year to hold a check over malpractices.“The current focus is on fully disbursing the scholarships and reimbursing the fee to eligible students without further delay”, he added.

The Government has earmarked Rs 1,000 crores for sanctioning scholarships to students who are pursuing higher studies.The funds could not be credited into students’ accounts as they did not open bank accounts and in some cases the students don’t’ know the online process system, he explained.The Government has appointed additional staff to streamline the online fee mechanism, he added.The Government will also pay the fee of SC/ST/BC categories who are pursuing higher studies under self-finance category.To study the disbursal of post-matric scholarships to students, the Government has appointed a four-member Ministerial committee, he stated. The committee would submit its report to the Government. Based on the report, the Government would take a decision, he added.
