Holidays extended for schools in flood-hit areas

Hyderabad, Oct 3 :

 The state government has extended Dasara holidays in schools and colleges in the Rayalaseema region due to the severe floods and rains. They were earlier scheduled to open on Monday (October 5).

According to an advisory issued on Saturday, all government, government-aided schools, private schools and colleges under the state government will remain closed for a few more days till the flood situation improves in the areas. The government has authorized the District Collectors to announce holidays in schools and colleges in flood areas.

Minister for Primary Education Manikya Vara Prasad stated that the government has authorized District Education Officers to take a decision on announcing holidays for schools in marooned areas.
