Danger looms large

Hyderabad,  Oct 2: With heavy inflow of Flood waters to Srisailam dam,   danger seems to loom large on the hydel project of Srisailam.  The Flood  waters  this  time  have  reached  a record  level leaving  the  officials in a quandary.
Srisailam dam authorities  have  already raised  the  eleven  crest  gates  releasing the water to  Nagarjuna  Sagar.  They are making  efforts to  lift  even  the emergency  gate also  to keep the  dam  away  from  threat  of  any  danger.
The  inflow  into the dam is 21 lakh cu sec of water   while the  out  flow  is  only 20 lakh cu sec of  water.  If the inflow  does  not  recede in the next couple of  days  then there is a threat to  the safety of the  dam. The backwaters   have  already  caused immense  damage  to  Kurnool town and  the neighbouring  villages.
