58th Defence Accounts Day celebrated

Hyderabad, Oct 1:

 The 58th Defence Accounts Department (DAD) Annual Day was celebrated by the organizations of Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA), Secunderabad and CDA (R&D) Hyderabad in the premises of Pay and Accounts Office (Other Ranks) Army Ordnance Corps (AOC) in Secunderabad, here, today.

To mark the occasion a 5 km walk was organized from the office of the CDA Secunderabad, which was inaugurated by M.A. Lincoln, IDAS, Controller. The officers and staff of Defence Accounts Department participated in the walk in large numbers despite drizzle.

K Niranjan Rao, IDAS, Principal Controller, presided over the function as Chief Guest and gave away the Motivation Awards and Prizes to the winners in various competitions. Speaking on the occasion he had highlighted the role of DAD in the changed scenario particularly in the fields of computerization and Financial Advice to Tri-services and allied Defence Organizations.

 M.A.Lincoln, IDAS, Controller spoke at length on various achievements and activities of DAD in the field of automation and monthly closing of pay accounts of Soldiers instead of Quarterly basis. The function commenced with the welcome address of A Krishna Murthy, IDAS, Deputy Controller. K Bala Krishna, IDAS, Addl Controller also spoke on the occasion and celebrations ended with the vote of thanks proposed by P Vijaya Mohan,IDAS, Deputy Controller. The function was attended by senior IDAS Officers and staff of Defence Accounts Department in the twin cities.
