Tirumala, Sept 24 :

 The Hundi collection at the Srivari Temple   remained steady at Rs 1.07 crore  besides other collections of   another Rs  12 lakhs on the third day yesterday (September 23).  The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam’s which is organizing the annual  Brahmotsavam   has recorded  a collection of  Rs  6,25,820  from  rentals of all of its  quarters. In all  72,507   pilgrims  had  visited  the Srivari  temple and had free darshan on Wednesday, 71,892  had free meals provided as ‘anna prasadam‘ by TTD, 16,880 cups of  free milk was supplied and  4101  pilgrims were also provided  medicare and 23,638 persons  were tonsured. .

The TTD  supplied    33.08 lakh gallons of   clean  drinking water  under ‘jala prasadam‘ scheme. Almost  42,870 pilgrims were  provided free laddu  while 90,505 laddus were sold. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the Garudotsvam tomorrow  by deploying for  extensive  drinking water and mobile  toilet  systems within  three kms  radius of the Srivari Temple  and around the four  mada streets.

The Tirumala Tirupati  Devasthanam (TTD) chairman  D K  Adikeshavulu Naidu says all arrangements  were  made for the successful conduct of the Garudotsavam, the most  unique of the  Vahana sevas of Lord  Venkateswara  on Friday. In view of last years experience, foolproof traffic and crowd movement arrangements have been made and strong barricades have been set up  around the four mada streets.

We have made extensive arrangements of drinking water, free meals, laddu pradadam, medicare, security and accommodation for a minimum of 10 lakh devotees, he said.Executive Officer I Y R Krishna Rao  said special teams have been set up to screen  suspects for swine flu at the Vaikuntam  complex, besides special masks, tamiflu tablets  and isolation wards  for treating emergencies cases of swine flu.

District Police Superintendent Lakshmi Reddy said   four platoons of APSP besides other 2,000 civil force and another 1,500 police reserve on the Garudotsavam day.  “We have made special traffic regulations and cark parking arrangements for smooth conduct of Garudotsavam,”said the police official.
