Strike to bring Tollywood to a standstill

Tollywood is set to face testing time once again and it seems trouble is brewing. Tollywood overcame the crisis of corona but it affected the lives of many associated with it. But last month witnessed workers of the 24 crafts threatening to go on strike. However, that was averted as the cine workers called off strike following discussions between the Producers Council and the Fim Union leaders and also with the intervention of Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.

But the peace seems to be short-lived as the discussions and dialogues hit a roadblock and this time producers decided to take a tough stand. Just as workers are maintaining a tough stand regarding their wages, producers also decided to take a tough stand regarding film production, etc and if the issues are not addressed then they are planning to go on strike.

They are discussing the increasing remuneration of stars and the way stars are increasing remuneration with each project though they are not doing any pan India films. Of late the producers of many films plunged into losses and if they go on strike, Tollywood comes to a standstill for three months. Producers are planning to bring down the cost of film production to minimize the losses and the Producers Council and the Film Chamber discussed the same. It has to be seen where the current face-off heads to.
