Filmmaker Shankar is hitting the deadlines often even since he announced his film with Ram Charan. A day ago, he made headlines after big production house Lyca Productions dragged him to court requesting him to put a stay on the filmmaker from directing other films before wrapping up Indian 2.

In an affidavit filed by Lyca Productions, it has revealed that they are paying Rs 40 crores as remuneration to Shankar. Well, that is certainly an astronomical fee charged by him. In fact, for Ram Charan’s RC15 bankrolled by Dil Raju, he would be taking home the same figure.

For the unversed, Rajamouli is the highest paid director. Baahubali director charges Rs 75crore approximately which includes the partypehsip in films as well. Thus after Rajamouli, filmmaker Shankar commands the second top paid director.

The petioner's statemnet reads, “...so far the director had completed around 60 per cent of the film’s portions, including the intermission sequence. The film has been often delayed due to several unavoidable reasons. Now, the plaintiff is shocked to know the director’s recent interest in his next film and tried to abandon Indian 2. The defendant had recently joined hands with Telugu actor Ram Charan for a pan-India film, which is scheduled to commence in July 2021.”

Justice PT Asha who heard the matter has however gave jolt to Lyca Productions stating that they can't issue an interim injunction against Shankar and the matter has been adjourned to April 15.
