Due to disapproving circumstances, many filmmakers and stars chose to release their films on various OTT platforms. However, few had waited for theatres to re-open. Though the central government gave permission for theaters re-opening, Telangana government is reluctant to give permission. Distributors in Andhra and Ceded are also not keen to release films under testing conditions with 50 percent occupancy.
Most probably, cinemas will open in November and several Telugu films are likely to hit the screens in November and December. Filmmakers have also decided to have at least one to two films gap between release of noted films.
The first big ticket film releasing on theatres amid the lockdown is Sai Dharam Tej’s Solo Brathuke So Better. The makers signed a deal with ZEE 5 for OTT release. But, they went back and are planning for theatrical release. Censor formalities have also been done and the film received U certificate.
Solo Brathuke So Better will have a solo release when theatres across the Telugu states will be fully functional. It will be a Baahubali kind release for the film as the makers believe the audience are anticipating for a theatrical experience all these days.
Directed by Subbu, the film features Nabha Natesh playing the female lead.
