Tamil Star Hero Tests Corona Positive, Fans Worried

Kollywood veteran actor and DMDK leader Vijayakanth tested positive for corona virus couple of days ago and is undergoing treatment in Miot International in Chennai, said a medical bulletin issued by the hospital on Thursday. He is stable and is expected to make a full recovery, said the bulletin issued by hospital managing director Dr Prithvi Mohandas. He “should be ready for discharged soon,” the bulletin said.

Earlier, DMDK issued a statement saying Vijayakanth had only mild symptoms. "He is fine and safe now," the statement said.

"Vijayakanth undertakes complete health check-up once every six months. When he went to MIOT for check-up this time, it was detected that he had mild symptoms. He has been treated for it," the party statement said.

Vijaykanth was last seen attending an event to celebrate the 16th annual day of the DMDK, although he had been avoiding public gatherings ever since the Covid-19 outbreak.
