Megastar Chiranjeevi has signed 3 projects in lockdown and most of them are with flop directors. He will next be teaming up with Bobby for a pucca commercial entertainer. Bobby’s last film Venky Mama was an average grosser. Chiru has also okayed films with VV Vinayak and Meher Ramesh.

Sujeeth of Saaho fame was the original choice for Lucifer remake. But, he was replaced with Vinayak, as Chiru didn’t like the script written by Sujeeth. Along with a team of writers, Vinayak is presently working on script of Lucifer Telugu version which will be produced by Ram Charan.

Now, some criticize Chiru for accepting to do Vedalam remake under KS Ramarao’s Creative Commercials. Meher Ramesh who hasn’t delivered a single hit in his career is roped in to direct the film which was released 5 years ago in Tamil.

They question why Chiru is doing an old film remake than an original one for his old friend Rama Rao? Why did he give direction mantle to utter flop director Meher Ramesh? Why doesn’t he or his make the film under their own production banner?

Here’s clarity for them. As per a source, Chiranjeevi long ago promised to do a film for Ramarao. But, asked him to come up with an appropriate subject and director. Ramarao who bought Vedalam remake rights suggested Meher’s name to Chiru.

Chiru, on the other hand, liked the story, but he initially has inhibitions over the director. However, Ramarao convinced him that if necessary changes are made to the script, Meher can handle it perfectly. Chiru has accepted to do the project for his friends, though he will take final call only after listening to final script.

“It’s not sensible to blame Chiru or Charan on the project. They instead should blame KS Ramarao for picking a remake and a flop director for Chiru,” advises the source.
