Manam turned out to be a classic in Tollywood. It became the first Telugu film featuring three generations of any family stars in the industry. The film paid rich tributes to legendary actor Nata Samrat ANR. The film starred ANR, Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, and also featured Samantha and Akhil in cameos.
Vikram Kumar who came up with different genre films like 13 B, Ishq, thought of Manam line with Harshvardhan who wrote dialogues for Ishq. But unable to know whom to approach, he went to Nithin and narrated the story. Nithin liked the story but he realized that it doesn't suit him.
Sudhakar Reddy who was listening to the story with Nithin told, "I know to whom this story suits", and called Nagarjuna. He told '"Ishq director Vikram Kumar narrated a story to us, this will suit your family perfectly. Listen to it once".
Nagarjuna asked Vikram Kumar to meet him and he gave a green signal in a single sitting. Nag knew that it would be about his dad ANR's final film. Many times Nagarjuna thanked Vikram Kumar for coming up with a memorable story for the Akkineni family. Vikram Kumar made some changes in the story, wrote the screenplay, and turned it into a beautiful one on screen. So Nithin and Sudhakar Reddy are behind memorable Manam present to Akkineni family.
