Chandoo Modeti won the appreciation of all with his gripping screenplay in Nikhil's thriller Karthikeya. He then presented a hit to Naga Chaitanya with Premam, a remake of Malayalam hit Premam.

After these two hits, Chandoo Mondeti teamed up with Naga Chaitanya once again for Savyasachi. But the film failed to live up to the expectations and bombed at the box office.

Meanwhile, Chandoo Mondeti revealed why Savyasachi failed. He said, “When we came up with a different genre entertainer, it should be shot on screen in a different manner. We shouldn't include unnecessary commercial elements. In Savyasachi the same blunder happened. The decisions I had taken as a director resulted in the blunders. The film's result disappointed me and Naga Chaitanya. However, my friendship with Naga Chaitanya is intact. He even congratulated me after watching Karthikeya 2 teaser."

It is known that Chandoo Mondeti is teaming with Nihil for a sequel for their super hit film Karthikeya.
