Mega Star Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy thrilled mega fans as Chiranjeevi showed his power in the role of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy for the first time on screen. However the film failed to set the screens on fire despite the presence of Big B Amitabh Bachchan, Tamannaah, Nayanthara, Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi and others. Analysts are still dissecting why Sye Raa witnessed a short dip in collections.

Generally state governments have been giving tax exemptions for films on freedom fighters. Many Bollywood fimmakers benefited with such exemptions for their patriotic entertainers. Sometime back Gunasekhar's Rudrama Devi got tax exemption from KCR's Telangana government though Chandra Babu's TDP govt in AP didn't give any exemption. Later Balakrishna's Gautami Putra Satakarni benefited from the tax exemption from AP government.

Inside talk is Konidela compound expected similar exemption for Sye Raa but they got hurt and upset when both the governments in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Didnot respond positively to their request.

Though the makers promoted the film as India's first freedom fighter against the British, no Indian government responded favorably. To the top of it, the makers had to bear the brunt of GST of around Rs 40crs. The film failed in overseas and in other languages giving shock to the filmmakers.
